Tan fans are going sick for sunshine

Britons like sunshine so much that 77 per cent of employees are willing to skip work on a sizzling hot day just to soak up the rays.

A survey by employment law firm Peninsula has discovered the July heatwave can be crippling for firms as staff throw 'sickies' during hot spells.

Peninsula managing director Peter Done said business's are increasingly monitoring staff attendance records amid fears that many people's recent sick day's off were for fake reasons.
