The SY 400/A access controller is used in conjunction with our falcon access control software, and allows two readers, usually one for entry and if required one for exit. The door locks are also controlled from the unit, each lock will be one of two types, fail secure (Yale type 12 Volt AC) where the lock remains closed in the event of power failure or fail safe (Magnetic 12 Volt DC) where the lock releases during power failure. In any event each door will normally be fitted with a emergency break glass to allow people to exit the building in an emergency. The SY400/A access controller also has sensor inputs to allow operation of the lock by other means, for example you may connect the SY400/A to your fire alarm panel, when the fire alarm activates the door lock will release allowing everyone to exit the premises. The SY400/A connects to your computer network using TCP/IP protocol and requires a fixed IP address, you may also connect by RS-232 and modem.
